Make a goal of consuming 1 gram of lean meat for each pound of body weight that you are carrying. This will allow your body to store some of that protein, and stored protein can result in increased muscle mass. If you are trying to build large muscles, do not attempt it while doing any form of intense cardio training. If your goal is a well-balanced fitness program, then cardio is essential. However, if you are trying to increase your muscle size, excess cardio could undo your hard work.
